My Process Begins with Hacksaws...
Seriously! Jerry does most of the deconstruction for me, using screw drivers, awls, wrenches, etc.. The best pieces are hiding in the guts of old machines like this. After I take them out, I clean and seal if needed.
Then the fun begins! I mostly use cold connections, primarily rivets, mini-screws and wire wrapping techniques to connect pieces together.

My designs come about in 2 ways: sketching and "playing" . Playing to me is starting with 1 or 2 pieces I want to use, and then moving them around, adding and subtracting items until the pieces tell me I'm done. I have several trays sitting in my studio in little piles because that project hasn't found it's voice yet.
